For this week's Campus Highlight -- delayed a day because of the MLK Jr. Holiday -- I'd like to send a general shout-out to all of the college students out there who have volunteered, are volunteering, or will volunteer on political campaigns during their time in school.
Yesterday's inauguration was a great reminder about the amazing privilege it is to live in America. In addition to getting a top-notch education, college students can also participate in a political process that fosters dialogue, debate, and change. Whether or not your candidate wins, your involvement in a campaign is what makes this country great -- and for that, I'd like to thank and acknowledge you.
(Each Monday during the academic year, I feature a "Campus Highlight": a unique, interesting, and noteworthy student organization, program, or initiative that demonstrates the amazing things college students do each and every day across the country.)
