5 College Spring Break International Locations
Picking Where to Go Is Half the Fun

By Kelci Lynn, About.com

Not sure where to go on your college spring break? Know you want to go to another country, but not sure about a final destination? Check out these 5 suggestions of where to go to make sure your trip provides all you want -- and need -- out of your international college Spring Break.

  1. Mexico. Ah, the classic Spring Break destination: Mexico. You can go somewhere fun and check out the culture or go somewhere along the water and check out the ocean scene. Make sure to check out online travel sites for great deals on airfare, hotels, and even all-inclusive packages.
  2. Europe. If you're going to school or living on the east coast, airfares to Europe can sometimes be cheaper than flying places in the United States. Look for specials, stay at hostels, travel by train, and have the time of your life.
  3. Canada. Our quiet neighbor to the north shouldn't be forgotten. Take a road trip to enjoy the scenery, check out the restaurant scene, or rent a cabin by a lake with your college or high school friends.
  4. Australia. The week you get off for Spring Break may be one of the best times to head down under. Visit friends on an exchange program or check out any of this country's amazing beach cities.
  5. Central America. From Belize to Costa Rica, Central America has a lot to offer. You can relax on the beach, work on your tan, snorkel, travel through a jungle, visit pyramids, go camping, or do almost anything your heart desires -- often for much less than it costs in the United States.
