Kelci Lynn has nearly ten years of full-time experience working with and at colleges, in positions ranging from a college admissions adviser for teenagers in foster care to a Program Officer at a consortium of twelve colleges in the Midwest. She now serves as a freelance consultant, writer, and editor.
Experience:
From her own college years, Kelci was enamored with college life and the life-changing experiences that can happen within those few short years. Immediately after college, she pursued graduate study in Higher Education and has been in the field ever since. Her work as a college admissions adviser, in college residence halls, in student activities and residence life offices, in a Dean of Students office, and with countless faculty and staff colleagues has only furthered her passion for helping students better understand how to successfully manage, and experience, their time in college.
Education:
Kelci has a B.A. in English and Comparative Literary Studies from Occidental College and an M.Ed., with an emphasis in Higher Education Administration, from Harvard University.
From Kelci Lynn:
My goal is to help college students navigate very complicated systems and ensure they get the most out of their college experiences. You'll find information dealing with everything from finances and study abroad to how to handle the infamous 'freshman fifteen'. If, however, there are questions you have or topics you'd like to learn more about, please let me know! I hope you'll make the College Life About.com resource one that you keep returning to throughout your college career.
