Life in college is hard enough ... without having to worry about major disasters. On Sunday, a tornado hit parts of the University of Southern Mississippi campus in Hattiesburg, MS. Fortunately, no one was seriously hurt, although classes have been cancelled until Thursday.
The daily rigors of college life can sometimes feel overwhelming, and events like this can put things into a more realistic perspective. So for this week's Campus Highlight, I'm choosing to focus on the students at USM. I hope everyone can pull together, as individuals and as a community, as you rebuild your campus and get back to your usual routines -- like the silly stress of classes and homework.
(Each Monday during the academic year, I feature a "Campus Highlight": a unique, interesting, and noteworthy student organization, program, or initiative that demonstrates the amazing things college students do each and every day across the country.)
