As a former speech-and-debater myself, I was so pleased to learn that the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Speech and Debate team won The Big Ten Conference back in October. Additionally, the team "took first-place honors at the same tournament last fall and earned a place in the record books as the first organization on campus to capture a Big Ten title," according to a campus press release.
With so much attention -- especially in the fall and winter months -- being paid to athletic championships, I wanted to recognize a team that's based more on brains than brawn. Congrats, Huskers, on a job well done!
