What the Student Aid Bill Means to You

Sunday September 20, 2009

You're busy. You have hundreds of pages to read a week on top of lab reports, a campus job, and eight million other things to manage. No worries, though: this blog is a great place to check in with for the latest on things that are going to have an impact on you and your college life.

On September 17, the House passed the Student Aid Bill, which increases Pell Grants, expands the Perkins Loan program, provides money to colleges to improve their facilities, and simplifies the FAFSA, among other things. All of which, of course, should make your college life a little easier.

Want to learn more? InsideHigherEd.com has a nice article that explains, in more detail, about the bill and what happens from here. In the meantime, however, I'll continue to post updates here (and in my free weekly newsletter) so that you can stay informed without having to read 20 extra pages a week.
