Looking for something to do over the summer? Want to take a college course for your love of the topic, but out of room in your schedule (or money for anything other than major-specific classes)? Just curious about what a course in another discipline is like, but hesitant because taking it might ruin your GPA?

Thanks to a twitter post from @RochelleVeturis, I recently discover the Master List of Free Online College Courses. The courses cover quite a wide range of academic disciplines, including intro. courses in a fair number of fields. It's worth checking out!

Good find!

It also looks like they’ve added a huge list of free language learning resources:

I did not fill in any forms, but they did not appear to be “Free” courses, merely free information for degrees offered by various schools.

Readers will likely also be interested in the new site VirtualProfessors.com. Not only does it have university classes and full courses, but also other very interesting lectures and talks from places like Ted, Google offices and other venues. Lectures are added daily.

Another great site to check out is http://www.freeuniversityonline.com. They list basic to intermediate video-lecture courses in a number of subjects.
